Key insights

Students' (dormitory) rooms look all similiar.
Students need different kinds of light direction and temperature.
Students need a versatile lamp that can be thrown around the room.

The design makes use of trash combining it with 3D-printed parts and a universal light fixture.

Targeted to students, it is designed to be affordable and sustainable. Together with its versatility and customizability, it makes for a great product.

Assembly
Animated 3D printed lamp from trash

Open source and made to be 3D printed.

The design uses 2 yogurt cups stuffed with other trash to adjust the color, direction and intesity of light to anyone's desire.
Grey rendering of a 3D printd screw - one of two parts of the lamp
Grey rendering of a 3D printed disk - one of two parts of the lamp
A seemingly innocent object concealing a surprise in its belly that gets revealed once turned on. Besides making use of thrash, the lamp awakens thoughts about the usage of waste materials by constantly posing a question:

Could this trash be used to embellish me instead of getting discarded?
